|
Throughout cinema and television history, Trampolines have played a vital part in bringing families together, challenging the establishment and providing a unique, and fun escape. I decided to put together a list of these unsung heroes, the 5 most famous trampolines of all time. 5. The Brady Bunch: One of the most famous TV families, The Brady Bunch, were the proud owners of a Trampoline. Rumours abound of a famous duo of young trampoliners being 'stunt jumpers' on the show, but it’s hard to separate fact from rumour. Remember there was a cold war going on at the time.
4. Japanese TV Shows: Trampolines being used as a part of Japanese game shows is nothing new, but when a gentleman used a trampoline on live television to jump 6m 30cm into the air, the nation came to a standstill. Breath taking stuff.
3. Monkey Magic: Trampolines were the secret driving force behind the stunts in one of the most amazing television shows of all time “Monkey Magic”, with many of the high flying stunts using a trampoline hidden out of sight. You may have not even noticed.
2. Shaun of the Dead: Some awesome use of a Trampoline can be seen in British comedy, “Shaun of the dead”. In what was described by James Richardson as 'the single most electrifying escape scene ever to be in a movie.' If you haven’t seen it then do yourself a favour and rent it out.
1. The Simpsons: The most famous Trampoline would have to be the only Trampoline with a starring role. The Evil Trampoline in the Simpson’s episode, "Bart's Inner Child". The Trampoline was cause of much pain and angst, eventually being discarded by the Simpson family. A little known fact is that the trampoline was actually played by Sean Penn, in a performance that won him an Oscar nomination for his brave portrayal of a mute, angry and animated trampoline.
